EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In September 2026, we were happy to welcome Christa as our new Executive Director. Christa brings a depth of leadership experience, a collaborative approach, and a strong commitment to community housing. She has an innate ability to connect strategic thinking with practical action, and brings a thoughtful leadership style and a genuine belief that successful organizations are built by listening, engaging, and building on existing strengths. She is committed to keeping residents and people at the centre of decision-making.

Over the course of her career, she has provided leadership across housing administration, property and asset management, facilities, information technology, capital development, and corporate administration. She has extensive experience supporting Boards and Board committees on governance, strategic planning, and organizational reporting, and has built strong partnerships throughout the housing sector.

We are excited to welcome Christa to the Nepean Housing team and look forward to working together as we continue serving our tenants, working collaboratively with community partners and advancing our strategic priorities.

OUR DEPARTMENTS

The Tenant Services Department serves as the primary point of contact for all resident inquiries, feedback, and concerns. This team plays a central role in fostering positive landlord-tenant relationships by managing a wide range of essential services. Key responsibilities include leasing available units, processing and collecting rent payments, and managing maintenance work orders. The department also oversees the calculation and administration of Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) subsidies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and supporting housing affordability for eligible tenants.

The Property Services Department is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of apartment buildings and townhomes across Nepean Housing communities. Their duties include responding to unit work orders, overseeing landscaping contractors, and ensuring the general upkeep and cleanliness of buildings.

They also coordinate pest control services, process tenant applications for unit alterations, and manage routine maintenance tasks such as smoke alarm testing and annual inspections. Regular cleaning of common areas is included as part of their role in supporting safe and well-maintained living environments.

Community development

The Community Development Department is dedicated to enhancing the lives of residents within the housing community. They offer a variety of social and recreational programs, resident education opportunities, and community events. The department works with partners to deliver initiatives such as school supply drives and other programs aimed at improving the lives of residents. They also update residents through regular communication channels and initiate tenant surveys and needs assessments. The department works closely with other departments within the housing community to communicate the needs of residents.

CORPORATE SERVICES

The Corporate Services Department is responsible for managing the financial operations of Nepean Housing. They handle budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting, ensuring that we remain financially stable and that all financial obligations are met. The department is responsible for processing vendor payments ensuring that all invoices are paid on time. They also handle payroll and benefits administration for the housing's staff. Additionally, the Finance Department works closely with all Departments to manage budgets and ensure that all activities are appropriately funded. Their work is critical to the long-term financial health and stability of Nepean Housing.

Capital works

The Capital Works Department manages capital repair and replacement projects across Nepean Housing communities. Typical projects include roof replacements, window upgrades, paving, and other building-related work.

The department coordinates contracted services and monitors project timelines, funding allocations, and compliance requirements. Work is completed based on available resources and scheduled as part of routine infrastructure planning.
