BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Clint Coutts joined Nepean Housing Corporation as a Board Member in 2011 and has served as President since 2021. Clint retired from his working life in 2020 after an entire career as a construction project manager. In addition to serving as a Board Member with Nepean Housing, Clint has sat as a board member on his condominium board since 2016. In his retirement, Clint is a relief school crossing guard with the Ottawa Safety Council and also volunteer drives seniors to their doctor’s and other appointments with the Olde Forge Community Centre.

PRESIDENT
After working at Ottawa Community Housing and the Ministry of Housing, Lynn Carson joined NHC in 1993 as the General Manager. She saw NHC through a time of change and growth. Lynn has been on many boards related to housing: ONPHA, CHRA, SHSC, and she was the President of the founding board of the Registry. After a short break from NHC when she retired, she joined the board in 2013.  She was president for 6 years and now is very pleased to be Past President. Lynn continues to volunteer wherever possible to further the supply of affordable housing.

Laurene Wagner joined the NHC Board of Directors in the fall of 2022 & is currently serving as Vice-President.  Laurene is passionate about affordable housing & believes it is a key component of the social & economic infrastructure of a caring & healthy city.  Laurene has worked in the affordable / community housing field for her entire 35+ year career with the largest social housing provider in Ottawa. As a senior executive focused on people & responsible for all areas of operations, she brought innovative & positive change to the organization's financial & service delivery models.  Since her retirement in 2014, Laurene has been consulting in strategic planning, organizational excellence, change management & advancing client service.  She is thrilled to share her experience as a Board member &support the NHC staff team!

VICE PRESIDENT
Andrew Price joined the Nepean Housing Board in 2022 and became Treasurer in 2023.  He is a passionate executive and volunteer who has committed over twenty-five years of service to people-centred organizations, primarily in the youth-serving sector.  Andrew is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Gymnastics Canada and previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Scouts Canada after a ten year career with Imperial Oil.  His passion for safety leadership has led him to contribute to the design and launch of Canada’s Responsible Coaching Movement and to co-lead a global safeguarding project for 170 National Scout Organizations.  Andrew volunteers as a local Scout leader and enjoys travelling and outdoor activities of all types in his free time.

Isabel Tsevi-Fanson joined Nepean Housing Corporation as a Board Member in 2016 and is currently a member of the Corporate Governance and HR Committee.  Isabel has over 20 years of human resources management experience in the consumer goods, defence and aviation industries.  

 

She is currently a Human Resources Manager at NAV CANADA, Canada’s civil air navigation services provider. In this role she oversees the harassment and violence prevention, employment equity, accessibility and official languages portfolios.

Diana Adjarska joined Nepean Housing Corporation as a Board Member in 2020 and has served as a Treasurer from 2021 to 2023. Diana is a CPA, CGA with experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, business operation management, and process optimizations from large international organizations across a diverse range of industries including Healthcare, Biotech, Telecommunication, and high-tech. Most recently Diana has worked as an Account Manager with the City of Ottawa. She is a Financial Literacy volunteer with CPA Ontario.

Leona Wong is devoted to public service and a lifelong advocate for social causes, recognizing the importance of creating a positive impact on the community. She joined NHC in 2021; previously, she sat on City of Ottawa advisory committees to advance arts and sports initiatives and programs.  With a background in engineering and business management and a career in program and project management, Leona's experience is complemented by demonstrated proficiency in realizing strategic outcomes and a deep commitment to social practices.

Brenda Abramson joined the Board of Nepean Housing Corporation in August 2023 and has been the vice-chair of the Audit, Finance and Tender Award Committee since December 2023. Brenda is a CPA. She was an executive in the federal government in finance and audit before retiring in 2019. Brenda currently also serves on the Board of SASC Ottawa (the Sexual Assault Support Center) and is an active political advocate for women and for marginalized groups.

The primary function of the Audit, Finance & Tender Award Committee is to advise the Board on matters relating to financial stewardship and the awarding of tenders.

The primary function of the Growth & Portfolio Committee is to advise the Board on matters relating to oversight and guidance of the NHC housing portfolio, new affordable housing opportunities and, new affordable housing developments.

housing program services & partnerships committee

The primary function of the HPSP Committee is to advise the Tenant Services, Property Services and Community Development departments on the development and approval of work plans, strategies to meet new challenges, the expansion of partnerships, and assist in the review of policies and procedures that concern the departments. 

 

The secondary function of the HPSP Committee is to provide oversight and assurance in the operational strategies/performance and service delivery to customers of Nepean Housing, including housing applicants, general needs of tenants (i.e. maintenance, administrative, supports), participants in community development programming, supportive service partners and other commercial partners.
