PROGRAM

CALLING ALL STUDENTS!
The Nepean Housing Corporation Educational Bursary Program provides financial assistance for individuals living in NHC communities undertaking full-time, post-secondary studies and who demonstrate financial need.
Our bursaries are awarded to cover costs directly associated with post-secondary education. They can be used for books, childcare, transportation, equipment and tuition.
At NHC, we are committed to helping youth in our communities reach their full potential.

THREE MORE STUDENTS WITH A $2,000 BURSARY
This bursary supports students pursuing post-secondary education through college, university, or skilled trades programs. We recognize that success takes many forms and value both academic and hands-on career paths.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

​You must be a Canadian citizen between 17 & 25 years of age at the time of the application.

You must be a registered household member living in a Nepean Housing Corporation community.

You must be able to prove you are registered in full-time post-secondary studies at an accredited institution (college, university or trade school) & working towards a diploma, degree, apprenticeship or other program.
HOW TO APPLY?

Copies of pre-printed forms are available at our main office located at 16 Kilbarron Road, Nepean, Ontario

Paper copy Applications being dropped off at the office should be delivered during business hours only.

Hand your application to a Nepean Housing Corporation staff member at our main office; do not put it in the drop box.

Make sure you include ALL of the requested supporting documentation when you submit your application.

Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted or considered.

Completed Applications must be received by June 1, 2026, at 4:00 PM EDT. ​

The deadline to submit your Application is Monday, June 1, 2026

If you applied last year but did not receive a bursary, you are welcome to apply again this year.

Bursary awards will be provided to three recipients in the amount of $2,000 each (one-time payment).

The Bursary Award can be applied towards tuition fees, books, transportation, childcare, equipment, living expenses and/or other costs directly associated with the academic or training program.

Previous winners of an NHC Educational Bursary Award may not apply.

Immediate family members of employees of Nepean Housing Corporation or their Board of Directors are not eligible to apply or win.

We are introducing a new flexible format essay submission style which allows you to answer with a traditional written essay style, or you also have the option of submitting a video, audio or portfolio/art piece.

You will be required to submit a Letter of Reference with your Application.
FLEXIBLE FORMAT ESSAY OPTIONS
NHC recognizes that traditional essay submission requirements may not work for everyone, and written content may not always be the strongest indicator of your potential.

So this year, you have a choice! If writing an essay is the way you want to answer, that's always an option, but now you also have the option of submitting a video, an audio recording, or a portfolio/work sample.

LETTER OF REFERENCE
We want to get to know you beyond your application essays. Part of the application process is to submit a Letter of Reference. This can be from your teacher, boss, coach, community leader, or just someone you know in your neighbourhood. We created a blank copy of the form that you can print out and give to your reference if they need help knowing what to write. ​
