 The Government of Ontario provides an easy-to-use website to search for health care services. Everyone is welcome, but some services may have waitlists. Comprehensive Health Care Services: Access doctors, specialists, and dietitians via Health Care Connect. Contact 811 for assistance, available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. No cost for dietitian consultations. Dental inquiries can be directed to the Ottawa Dental Society website or by calling their hotline.

🏥 Health Services

  • Ontario Health Teams (formerly Champlain LHIN) – Coordinates home care, palliative care, and community health services.

  • Primary Care Outreach to Seniors (PCO) – Mobile team of nurses and social workers offering in-home health assessments and case management for seniors at risk of losing their independence. No cost for eligible seniors.

  • Home & Community Care Support Services Champlain (HCCSS) – Government-funded in-home healthcare, personal support, and long-term care placement.

  • Ottawa West Community Support (OWCS) – Foot care, respite care, personal care & dementia day programs (fees may apply; subsidies available).

  • Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) – Seniors’ wellness programs, foot care & caregiver support (some services have a cost).

  • Olde Forge Community Resource Centre – Health workshops, fitness classes & foot care for seniors (fees may apply; subsidies available).

  • Dementia Society of Ottawa & Renfrew County – Dementia support, social programs, caregiver resources.

  • Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program – Free dental care for low-income seniors (65+).

  • Para Transpo – Door-to-door transit for those with disabilities (fees based on distance; subsidies may be available).

  • Ottawa West Community Support (OWCS) – Volunteer drivers for medical appointments & shopping (low-cost; financial assistance available).

  • Olde Forge Community Resource Centre – Affordable volunteer rides for seniors (small fee per trip, subsidies may be available).
